CEK - Cabinet d’Etudes Keita, Kala Saba, Cabinet d’Etudes pour l’Education et le Developpement, Bamako established in 1986, is a group of Malian independent consultants who are working on environmental issues in the last two decades. Key words in the working methods of the consultants of CEK are the balance between men and women, intercultural communication and permanent education. CEK’s approach focuses on participation, involvement of beneficiaries, the creation of a sustainable social-economic, institutional and financial basis for activities and local human resource development. CEK operates in the following fields of expertise: environmental sanitation and waste management, establishment and management of micro-development projects and their financing. The services of CEK include: training (of trainers) and monitoring of non-governmental organisations, organisation of workshops on process management, research, project evaluation, feasibility studies and participatory working methods and management support to organisations. CEK has gained experience in various countries of Africa (Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Rwanda and has been executing projects for various international donor agencies (WASTE, GTZ, FAKT, SNV).
