IPES - Promoción del Desarrollo Sostenible

IPES - Promoción del Desarrollo Sostenible is a private organisation founded in 1984 with the objective of improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable sectors of the population through sustainable development interventions. These interventions are characterized by their effectiveness, impact and replicability. IPES works in the following areas: Urban Environmental Management, Local Development Promotion, Urban Agriculture, Participatory Governance and Gender Equity. Its headquarter is in Lima (Peru) and counts with decentralized offices in Latin America.

The work of IPES in urban environmental management consists in the implementation of good environmental practices with organised people, local governments, public and private enterprises, and other key stakeholders. The approach of IPES is based in principles such as pollution prevention and fulfilment of environmental laws and norms. All the stakeholders should be part of participative processes in order to find and implement sustainable and integral solutions.
